Press Release
August 14, 2025
Dear Members of the Tahltan Nation,
On behalf of the Tahltan Central Government, Vice President Kimberly Marion, Secretary Treasurer Carol Danielson, and Chief Marie Quock of the Iskut Band and Chief Richard (Rocky) Jackson of the Tahltan Band, I would like to inform you that we have recently met with the Tahltan Nation Negotiating Team who thoroughly briefed us on the progress and current status of the Eskay Creek Revitalization Project Impact Benefit Agreement (IBA), which is being negotiated with Skeena Gold + Silver.
We are pleased to confirm that we are satisfied with the negotiation work that has been accomplished thus far. As a result, we have provided clear directives to the Negotiating Team to commence engaging with our Nation on the proposed IBA, in preparation for the IBA ratification vote scheduled for October 8th and 9th.
This agreement represents another significant step forward for our Nation in our journey towards economic sovereignty. In addition, we believe it holds great promise as we prioritize increasing services and infrastructure in our three Tahltan communities.
We are committed to ensuring that all voices are heard and considered as we move towards this important decision. We look forward to your active participation and involvement in the upcoming discussions and deliberations. Together, we can shape a brighter tomorrow for the Tahltan Nation.
Mēduh,
Kerry Carlick
President, Tahltan Central Government
