Breton Air and Wagmatcook First Nation celebrated the official launch of their partnership corporation, Kitpu Aviation, on July 2nd after several weeks of operation.

Kitpu Aviation is the first majority-owned Mi’kmaq aviation company, with Wagmatcook being the first Mi’kmaq community involved in the aviation sector. Wagmatcook CEO, Donald Hanson, is excited about what the partnership will bring.

“The launch event was a great opportunity for us to pull in our partners and the community and government stakeholders to reinforce the message of the announcement of this partnership between Wagmatcook and Breton Air with the new formation of Kitpu Aviation,” said Hanson.
