Algoma University study explores barriers & supports for Indigenous students in post-secondary, highlighting funding & social challenges.

ZxA new study at Algoma University explores the barriers and supports for Indigenous students in post-secondary education, says a release from the university.

Dr. Rose E. Cameron, School of Social Work Associate Professor, along with researchers from University of Toronto, have completed an in-depth study titled Creating a ‘sense of belonging’ for Indigenous students: identifying supports to improve access and success in post-secondary education.’

Published in AlterNative: An International Journal of Indigenous Peoples, the paper looks at financial and social barriers, and offers recommendations for how institutions can improve.
