ASIRT concludes three investigations

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) has completed its investigations into three separate incidents and released the executive director’s reports.

On Dec. 4, 2018, pursuant to Sec. 46.1 of the Police Act, ASIRT was directed to investigate an officer-involved shooting involving the RCMP in Grande Prairie. ASIRT’s investigation is now complete.

On Sept. 11, 2020, ASIRT was directed to investigate the in-custody death of a man involving officers of the RCMP in Ponoka. ASIRT’s investigation is now complete.

On Oct. 28, 2022, ASIRT was directed to investigate the death of a man during an interaction with an officer of the Calgary Police Service. ASIRT’s investigation is now complete.
