‘Landscape of Nations: Beyond the Mist’ provides a comprehensive examination of 13,000 years of Indigenous presence in Niagara
As part of its commitment to Truth and Reconciliation, Niagara Parks is pleased to invite media to the official launch of Landscape of Nations: Beyond the Mist on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 1 p.m. at the Old Fort Erie Visitor Centre.
This compelling new book brings together diverse voices to showcase Niagara’s rich Indigenous history, including contributions from 17 authors, along with captivating works by photographers, mapmakers and artists.
Landscape of Nations: Beyond the Mist, edited by Rick Hill and Tim Johnson and published by the Niagara Parks Commission in association with Plenty Canada, provides a comprehensive examination of 13,000 years of Indigenous presence in Niagara. The anthology uncovers fascinating historical information and events, such as the critical role of Indigenous forces in defending Canada during the War of 1812, alongside stunning images that capture the essence and beauty of the Niagara River corridor.
