Political sciences prof Liam Midzain-Gobin co-author of the paper “Reimagining Canada as Inter-National: Understanding First Nations-Provincial Relationships”
A Brock University professor has co-authored a new report highlighting the relationships between First Nations peoples and the provinces impacted by sovereignty and diplomacy.
Liam Midzain-Gobin, a political sciences professor at Brock, with a University of Ottawa professor and the former senior adviser to New Brunswick’s commissioner on systemic racism wrote the paper “Reimagining Canada as Inter-National: Understanding First Nations-Provincial Relationships.”
It examines how relationships between provinces and Indigenous populations have been faring regarding reconciliation.
The report recognizes that some of the parties involved lack engagement with one another and the issues this has created in the long term, said Midzain-Gobin.
