What’s happening on (and off) Parliament Hill, plus the news you need to start your day.
As the final stretch of the fall sitting begins, Prime Minister Mark Carney is set to start the week by headlining the monthly breakfast event hosted by Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe to “deliver remarks and participate in a a featured conversation,” that the official programme for the sold-out event is billing as a “fireside chat, which “will explore the current economic landscape, government priorities, and what lies ahead for Canada’s capital, offering a unique perspective that bridges national vision with local opportunity.” (7:50 a.m.)
As per his itinerary, he’s not currently planning to make an appearance in the House of Commons this afternoon, but will “join Inuit leaders” at a closed-to-media event to “witness the unveiling of Inuit cultural belongings being returned by the Vatican.” (3:30 p.m.)
