Join us for a free screening and beading circle on June 1
To mark National Indigenous History Month in Canada, the Benny Library and CBC/Radio-Canada are organizing a screening of the bilingual series Telling our Story/Laissez-nous raconter.
On June 1, join CBC/Radio-Canada at Benny Library for a special screening of Telling Our Story/Laissez-nous raconter, a visually stunning four-part documentary series highlighting 11 different First Nations in Quebec, that illuminates the rich Indigenous cultures and stories that exist within the province.
Following the screening, artist Megan Leinen, who is Mi’kmaq from her mother’s side, will be leading a Beading Circle — a means of recording and translating cultural knowledge and promoting wellness.
