The Construction Foundation of BC’s (CFBC) ReFRAME Project launched in the Summer of 2024. The program offers participants who face barriers to employment the supports and skills development that they need to help them achieve personal success in their careers, community, and lives.
ReFRAME has two streams of emphasis – one is mental health and wellbeing; the other is skills development. The ultimate goal is to help participants secure meaningful employment in the trades and construction industry.
Working with community organizations, ReFRAME creates safe spaces for deep engagement, empowering BIPOC community members to thrive. The mental health and wellbeing stream of programming includes multiple sessions on mental wellness, harm reduction, and emotional skills development to support overall wellbeing and recovery.
The skills development stream has staff work with participants to enhance communication, confidence, problem-solving, adaptability, and more through the Skills for Success Framework. This framework fosters both personal and professional growth. The skills development stream focuses on active learning sessions that include First Nations carving sessions and industry-specific skills development, helping participants gain valuable hands-on building experience.
