The RCMP shooting death of an Indigenous man in New Brunswick has prompted the six Wolastoqey chiefs in the province to call for better representation on the arms-length agency that investigates police violence.
The RCMP shooting death of an Indigenous man in New Brunswick has prompted the six Wolastoqey chiefs in the province to call for better representation on the arms-length agency that investigates police violence.
They say for serious incidents involving First Nations people there must be Indigenous representation on the Serious Incident Response Team, also known as SiRT, calling it a “fundamental act of reconciliation.”
