Iqaluit, Nunavut (December 17, 2025) – The Government of Nunavut (GN) and the Nunavut Employees Union (NEU) have successfully negotiated a new collective agreement, which has now been ratified by NEU members.
“The successful support for this collective agreement by NEU members is a meaningful outcome for both the Government of Nunavut and the dedicated public service employees who serve our communities,” said Minister of Human Resources Annie Tattuinee. “The new collective agreement fosters mutual understanding and respect, allowing us to advance our programs and services with confidence.”
“This agreement represents the strength and solidarity of our membership, and the importance of having their voices heard at the bargaining table. We’re proud of the progress made in this collective agreement and believe the outcome reflects meaningful improvements for Government of Nunavut workers,” said Jason Rochon, president of the Nunavut Employee’s Union. “I want to thank our bargaining team and all NEU members for their support and engagement throughout the process.”

The successful ratification of the new collective agreement signifies a significant step in furthering collaboration within the public service. The new agreement serves to reinforce the commitment of all parties involved and create a unified approach to addressing the diverse needs of the public.
A signing ceremony for the new collective agreement will take place early in the new year.
