DIHE announces Hawthorne Road Infrastructure and Housing Project

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne Department of Infrastructure, Housing and Environment (DIHE) is pleased to announce a new infrastructure and housing project for 2023-2024.

Infrastructure and site prep will begin in October 2023 on Hawthorne Road in Tsi Snaihne. The project will consist of road extension, hydro and waterline extension, and septic installation for apartment units.

5 3-bedroom triplexes will be constructed in the following years after infrastructure and site prep is completes. The 15 apartment rental units will be approximately 1070 sq ft., 3 bedroom 1 bathroom, insulated slab on grade, with an electric air handler which provides heat and air conditioning in each unit. All apartment buildings will have, Legallet thermal floor and wall system, with R-40 value on floor, R-48 value on walls , R-65 value in attic, and triple plane windows to provide more energy efficiency for units.
