FANS Rent Supplement Application

This is a reminder to Financial Assistance for Nunavut Students (FANS) recipients of the Rent Supplement Grant.
This monthly grant assists with housing rental costs for Nunavut Inuit students living away from home. This only includes students living:
- Outside of Nunavut.
- Inside Nunavut, but outside of their home community and have dependents living with them.
- Inside Nunavut, but outside of their home community and is a single student renting in private accommodations.
This grant does not apply to any students in the three categories described above who live in Government of Nunavut (GN) or public housing or are applying to cover mortgage costs.
There is no limit on the number of years Nunavut Inuit can receive this grant and it does not need to be paid back unless you receive an overpayment.
Eligible Nunavut Inuit students can apply for this grant by completing the FANS Rent Supplement Form located on the GN website. Students only need to complete this application form once every new academic year before the end of their first semester.
