Food prices, spyware and the detention of Jimmy Lai on the radar at committee – iPolitics

What’s on the agenda for the House and Senate committees today.

The ongoing push to “stabilize food prices” still at the top of the agenda at AGRICULTURE AND AGRI-FOOD, where MPs are set to get an update on the latest developments from the Agri-Food Analytics Lab, Canadian Federation of Agriculture, Retail Council of Canada, Fruit and Vegetable Growers of Canada and the Canadian Agri-Food Policy Institute. (11 a.m.)

Over at ACCESS TO INFORMATION, PRIVACY AND ETHICS, MPs will question senior officials with the Canada Border Services Agency, Correctional Service of Canada and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, as well as Natural Resources and National Defence as they continue their self-assigned probe into the use of spyware by federal departments and agencies. Elsewhere on the morning circuit, SCIENCE AND RESEARCH members circle back to their work on the “integration of Indigenous traditional knowledge and science in government policy development” with back-to-back presentations from academic experts, while STATUS OF WOMEN members explore “women’s economic empowerment.” (11 a.m.)
