In the new CBC Gem point-of-view documentary series For the Culture with Amanda Parris, Amanda Parris explores and examines timely issues and themes that centre Blackness and Black folks around the world.
Parris — who is the series’s host, creator and executive producer — explores a different topic in each of the show’s six episodes. Topics include reparations, Black maternal health, the business of Black hair and more.
Parris is a writer, producer and broadcast host. She is the creator and former host of CBC Music’s R&B radio show Marvin’s Room. She was also the host of several television arts series including CBC Arts: Exhibitionists, The Filmmakers and From The Vaults.
