What’s on the agenda for the House and Senate committees today.
A former University of Ottawa medical resident suspended over pro-Palestine social media postings is set to share his experience with CANADIAN HERITAGE members as the committee kicks off its self-initiated investigation into the protection of freedom of expression across Canada. In addition to Yipeng Ge, MPs will hear from Canadian Constitution Foundation litigation director Christine Van Geyn, as well as Chaire de recherche France-Québec sur les enjeux contemporains de la liberté d’expression co-chairs Mathilde Barraband and Pierre Rainville. (4:30 p.m.)
Meanwhile, STATUS OF WOMEN members continue to explore “gender-based violence and femicides against women, girls and gender-diverse people” during back-to-back presentations from the Canadian Anti-Stalking Association, Canadian Femicide Observatory for Justice and Accountability and the CAVAC Network, as well as Peterborough police chief Stuart Betts.
