Counting existing green spaces, the city has already reached a third of its goal
Greater Sudbury is joining the national and global effort to combat the rapid loss of biodiversity.
In a council meeting on Tuesday the city unanimously voted to protect 30 per cent of its lands and waters over the next six years.
The chair of the working group spearheading this initiative, Franco Mariotti, told councillors it’s a ‘win, win, win situation’ that won’t impact the housing developments the city has already identified.
