Health seeks feedback on proposed changes to Nunavut Pharmacy Act

Press Release

September 5, 2024

The Department of Health is seeking public feedback on proposed changes to the Nunavut Pharmacy Act. Since May 2024, the Department has consulted with pharmacy professionals, health care professionals, and stakeholders to help inform proposed legislative amendments.

The Nunavut Pharmacy Act is the law that guides pharmacy practice in Nunavut. It was established in 1988, before Nunavut became a territory, to ensure high standards of pharmacy care. However, with changes in medical knowledge, technology, and healthcare integration, the Act needs to be updated to reflect modern practices and standards.

A discussion document with more information on the proposed changes and how they will benefit care delivered to Nunavummiut can be found on the Government of Nunavut website.

Comments and feedback can be directed to @email, or by fax at 867-982-3256, or by mail at:
