‘Hitting it out of the park’: Richmond Hill Mayor David West approaches halfway point in term reflecting on goals for city – York Region

Almost halfway through his first full term as Richmond Hill’s mayor, David West is sticking to his vision.
The annual “state of the city” speech he gave on Oct. 8 touched on many of his themes and goals: respect, love of diversity, support for the arts, managed growth, environmental sustainability.
And despite huge problems the mayor of any Ontario city would face, the last two years have given West some satisfaction.
“We are really hitting it out of the park,” he told members of the Richmond Hill Board of Trade, local politicians and city staff.
