Immersive Indigenous anti-racism workshop planned in Penticton – Castanet

As Truth and Reconciliation Day approaches, South Okanagan Similkameen Immigrant and Community Services has decided to follow up by hosting a free workshop on intercultural competency, Indigenous rights and anti-racism.

On Oct. 9, interested people 16 and older are welcome to join “Reconcili-ACTION” at Penticton’s Cleland Community Theatre from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The workshop is free to attend and will be run by 3 Crows Productions, a group of Indigenous educational storytellers dedicated to increasing awareness of Indigenous culture and lived experience.

“The complex word ‘Reconciliation’ can evoke thoughts like “When are Indigenous Peoples going to decide that everything is reconciled and we can move on?'” reads a press release from the organizers.
