The West Kelowna RCMP Indigenous Police Service will host the annual Truth and Reconciliation canoe journey today.
Mounties will join students from Mount Boucherie Secondary and Const. Nell Bruce Middle School at Kelowna’s City Park and travel by the way of canoe across Okanagan Lake to the Westbank First Nation Beach.
The journey will follow traditional indigenous customs and protocol along the way.
Once on the other side paddlers will meet with the WFN Chief and Council, elders, survivors, and other invited community members.
