Poets Hope Engel, Mike (O’dah ziibing/Heart of the river) Ashkewe, Rebecca Sargent, and Deinaira Doxtator will perform along with other special guests at Art Not Shame.
Celebrate the work of the Indigenous Poets Society with Guelph Spoken Word at a fun event this weekend. You can get your copy of the anthology “Mihko Kiskisiwin – Blood Memory,” which features several poets from Guelph.
This launch has been a year in the making, according to poet and editor Hope Engel.
“I’m just so excited it’s finally happening,” they said. “This book wouldn’t even exist if it weren’t for the support of Guelph Spoken Word and people from Guelph.”
