Interpreter Translator (Inuk)

Under the direction of the Manager of Translations and Interpretation, you will be responsible for providing timely and accurate simultaneous interpretation and translations to Nunavut Tunngavik Inc (NTIs) Annual General Meetings, Executive Committee, Board of Directors, Board Committees, affiliate organizations, employees and to Inuit and members of the general public wishing to communicate with NTI in Inuktitut or English.

To be invited for an interview; High school diploma is required. Highly developed oral and written fluency in Inuktitut and English. The ability to interpret and translate accurately and efficiently with the ability to keyboard in roman orthography and syllabic characters and to operate Windows-based computers. Have an Interpreter/Translator certificate, Certification from CITC would be an asset. Ability to proofread documents once completed and the ability to work with demanding deadlines and under high levels of stress/pressure. Able to work well and collaboratively with a diverse group of colleagues and stakeholders and knowledge of NTI programs, services and technical terms would be an asset.

Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.

Starting salary is $97,761.00 per annum (commensurate with experience) a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan, group insurance and vacation travel assistance.

Housing allowance of $35,865.00
