Iqaluit walk-in clinic for whooping cough and measles vaccines

Press Release

March 7, 2025

The Government of Nunavut is advising Iqaluit residents that walk-in clinics for the whooping cough (pertussis) and measles vaccines are available every Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Iqaluit Public Health (Building 1091, near the old airport terminal).

The following individuals are encouraged to get vaccinated:

  • Anyone 2 months and older who has not been fully vaccinated against whooping cough (pertussis).
  • Anyone 12 months of age and older who has not been fully vaccinated against measles.
  • Individuals born before 1970 may have some natural immunity to measles, but should consult a healthcare provider to confirm their vaccination status.
  • Those traveling out of territory or individuals with underlying health conditions (such as immunodeficiencies) are especially encouraged to get vaccinated.

If you are unsure about your or your child’s vaccination status, visit Iqaluit Public Health during walk-in hours to consult with a nurse. In addition to whooping cough and measles vaccines, influenza, COVID-19 and other routine immunizations will also be available.

For more information, please contact Iqaluit Public Health at 867-975-4800. Residents are encouraged to bring their immunization records if available.

Protect yourself, your family, and your community—get vaccinated.
