Kátł’odeeche First Nation is implementing a partial fire ban to minimize the risk of wildfires during a “period of increased fire danger.”
In a notice on Wednesday night, the First Nation announced it was implementing the partial fire ban from August 1 to 5 to ensure the safety and wellbeing of community members and to protect property.
Under the partial ban, the use of fireworks, burning of debris or yard waste and any uncontrolled fires are not permitted in any outdoor areas within the reserve’s boundaries.
