Keyano College and Métis Nation of Alberta establish $1-million education fund – Mix 103.7

Keyano College and the Métis Nation of Alberta have partnered together to create a one-million-dollar Métis Education Fund.
$500,000 was gifted to Keyano by the Métis Nation of Alberta’s Métis Education Foundation and the Rupertland Institute, which Keyano College matched to establish the one-million-dollar fund.
The funding will be open to qualified Métis students to provide financial aid to reduce the cost of education, and the potential financial burden it may have.
“This partnership signals a commitment from Keyano College to the education and success of our Métis citizens,” said President of the Métis Nation of Alberta, Audrey Poitras.
“To the Métis Nation, the creation of this fund was not just a donation to the College; it was an investment in the future of the Metis Nation.”
Keyano hopes this funding will advance the enrollment of Métis students into post-secondary education and inspire them to create change within the RMWB.
