Legal Services

The Ontario Federation of Indigenous Friendship Centres (OFIFC), a not-for-profit organization, is requesting proposals from legal firms for the provision of a full range of legal advice and support for the OFIFC and all governing bodies, boards, and committees established through agreements with the OFIFC. Proposals should reflect the OFIFC’s desire to maintain legal services as an integral part of its functions on an as-needed basis. Proponents should devise a timely communications and delivery system that responds to the political and administrative nature of the OFIFC, often requiring a timely response to important matters. Particular attention should be paid to the role of a senior solicitor in directing the delivery of services, advising the Co-Executive Director’s and its committees and boards, and generally representing the OFIFC. The RFP is intended to provide a framework for the OFIFC to evaluate each proposal and determine which submission most closely addresses the OFIFC’s needs. Proponents are encouraged to provide any additional information or innovative approaches not specifically outlined in the context of this proposal. The OFIFC is willing to retain multiple law firms to fulfill the indicated practice areas and encourages law firms that specialize in one or all of these areas to apply for the position(s) outlined in this RFP. As well, proposals that thoughtfully consider the OFIFC’s priorities, cultural practices, and direction.
