Library celebrates Indigenous history month – Brantford Expositor

Visit the Brantford Public Library in person and online to get physical and digital items to help recognize Indigenous History Month.

There are number of new and recently-published books available in both the fiction and non-fiction categories. Ask library staff to help you find any items you are looking for.

New and forthcoming books include Truth Telling by Michelle Good. Michelle was a recent guest of the Library’s popular Author Series program. From resistance and reconciliation to the resurgence and reclamation of Indigenous power, Michelle explores the contemporary Indigenous experience in Canada in a series of essays.

Mohawk writer and Brantford resident Alicia Elliott’s forthcoming novel And Then She Fell is a gripping novel of Indigenous life, motherhood, and mental health as a young Mohawk woman discovers the picture-perfect life she always hoped for may have horrifying consequences.
