The Long Term and Elder Care Policy Analyst plays a key role within the Department of Social and Cultural Development, assisting Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. to advance its health priority areas. The Long Term and Elder Care Policy Analyst will directly report to the Assistant Director- Health and work with a team to advance NTI’s mission. The Department is responsible for activities related to NTI’s obligations as the Designated Inuit Organization (DIO) under Article 32 of the Nunavut Agreement.
In this position you should have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or at least 3 years of equivalent work experience in health or social policy. Knowledge of the Nunavut Agreement especially article 32, NTI’s Mission and NTI’s Corporate Governance system. Have knowledge of Regional, Territorial, National and International Inuit Organizations. Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to Inuit Issues and knowledge or health-related issues affecting Inuit in Nunavut. You should have proven ability to deal simultaneously with multiple files, meet demanding deadlines, work under high levels of stress/pressure. Effective oral and written skills, fluency in Inuktut or Inuinnaqtun or the willingness to undertake training to attain fluency is a must.
Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.
Starting salary is $121,120.00 per annum (commensurate with experience) a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan, group insurance and vacation travel assistance.
Housing allowance of $35,232.00
