Michelle Cameron: An Inspiration for Indigenous Women Entrepreneurs – ICC

Michelle Cameron, a proud member of Peguis First Nation in Manitoba, has emerged as a leading force in Indigenous entrepreneurship. Throughout her career she has demonstrated resilience, innovation, and cultural pride. As the founder and owner of Dreamcatcher Promotions and the Indigenous Nations Apparel Company (INAC), Cameron has significantly contributed to the representation and success of Indigenous businesses in Canada.

Cameron’s journey into entrepreneurship began in 2011 with the launch of Dreamcatcher Embroidery, a home-based business specializing in embroidery services. With an eye for expansion and a commitment to empowering Indigenous branding, she rebranded the company to Dreamcatcher Promotions in 2013.

This strategic shift allowed her to offer a diverse range of promotional products and apparel for businesses, organizations, and communities. Today, Dreamcatcher Promotions is the largest Indigenous-owned promotional company in Canada, employing over 50 staff members, many of whom are Indigenous.
