Amanda Peters, bestselling author of The Berry Pickers, will be appearing at the next Books on the Bench author evening on Friday, Sept. 27 at Fielding Estate Winery in Beamsville.
Amanda is a writer of Mi’kmaq and settler ancestry. In her new short story collection, Waiting for the Long Night Moon, Amanda describes the Indigenous experience from an astonishingly wide spectrum in time and place—from contact with the first European settlers, to the forced removal of Indigenous children, to the present-day fight for the right to clean water.
