Minimum wage compliance for Nunavummiut

The Department of Justice reminds Nunavut employers and employees that the territory’s minimum wage rate is now $19.00 per hour, following an increase from $16.00 that took effect on January 1, 2024.

Employers are reminded that any payment below the minimum rate is not in compliance with the Labour Standards Act.

Employees who believe their pay is not in compliance with the new minimum rate are encouraged to speak to their employer and, if necessary, consult with the Nunavut Labour Standards Compliance Office by phone at 1-877-806-8402 or email at LabourServices@gov.nu.ca.
