Morley First Nation to officially change name – CJWE

August 29 will be a history making moment for the people of the Stoney Nakoda Nations.
That is when community leaders officially rename “Morley” to “Mini Thni”
The name “Morley” was given to the community by Methodist missionary John McDougall as he named the area after his friend Morley Punshon from the area’s name of Ghost River back in 1873.
On Thursday, the name change celebration will include ceremony, drumming and dancing.
