SACKVILLE, N.B. — Mount Allison has unveiled plans for the concept design of the new R.P. Bell Library Hub for Innovation and Learning.
The new Mount Allison University library facility commits to integrated design, Indigenous consultation, sustainability and accessibility and will mark the first renovation to the building in over 60 years.
Construction of an interim library on campus is scheduled to begin this summer to ensure students and faculty have access to library services while the R.P. Bell facility is under renovation. The facility’s long-term purpose will be as a multipurpose athletics complex.
The newly renovated space will house teaching, learning and research services. In addition to library staff, collections and resources it will house academic support for students, teaching and learning support for faculty, and spaces designed to facilitate the variety of ways students study.
