‘People are here to learn and be open’: Guelph’s National Celebration of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples – Guelph Mercury-Tribune

The National Celebration of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples event was held at Riverside Park on June 21 and organizer Jennifer Parkinson, Métis of Red River, said it was a wonderful day.
“We had beautiful weather, great community, First Nations, Métis, Inuit all coming together,” Parkinson said.
She said the event is about making a connection, to the creator, the land and others in the community.
“And it’s awesome to be able to hug each other, see people we haven’t connected with for a long time,” she said.
