“Pieces of Creation” Indigenous storytelling event comes to Arbor Gallery – The Review Newspaper

Arbor Gallery is pleased to host a special storytelling event for children entitled “Pieces of Creation”, taking place on Saturday, April 5, from 10:30am to noon. Presented by ambassadors from Indigenous Experiences, it begins with a retelling of the story “Sky Woman Falls to the Earth” and is followed by an interpretive art activity in which participants can translate their vision of the story to paper using a woodland style of art, character stencils and paints. Participants will gain a better understanding of the characters’ significance in First Nations culture through this family-friendly event.
Through its unique programming, Indigenous Experiences offers opportunities to experience the culture, teachings and history of Canada’s Indigenous People from a First Nation perspective. Based out of Mādahòkì Farm in Ottawa’s Greenbelt region, it is comprised of a talented team of Indigenous artists who represent the Indigenous community of Ottawa today.
