Premier R.J. Simpson issues statement on passing of Honourable Murray Sinclair

Premier Simpson issued the following statement today on the passing of Honourable Murray Sinclair:

I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of the Honourable Murray Sinclair. Mr. Sinclair was a prominent leader in Canada – the first Indigenous judge appointed in Manitoba, a respected lawyer, Senator and Chair of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada.

He will always be remembered for his unwavering commitment to reconciliation and dedication to championing human rights, justice, and truth.

I offer my heartfelt condolences to his family, and I join Canadians in mourning the passing of a visionary leader whose legacy will not be forgotten.
