MONCTON (GNB) – Premier David Alward today issued the following statement:I am deeply troubled that violence has erupted at a protest site on Route 134 near Rexton. This is a serious and evolving situation that is being very carefully monitored.
While we respect and defend the right of individuals to protest peacefully, we cannot endorse or tolerate unlawful activity.
We are committed to dialogue and as a province we are calling for peace. We will continue doing everything in our government’s power to achieve a peaceful resolution.
