Presidents Corner: December 12, 2025 – MNA

As we head into the final weeks of the year, I can’t help but reflect on the momentum we felt in Ottawa at the Métis National Council’s Annual General Assembly. This year’s AGA was a clear affirmation that the Otipemisiwak Métis Government is being heard at the national level, and that our Citizens’ priorities are firmly on the federal agenda.

Over the course of the week, we engaged directly with several federal cabinet ministers, leaders in Indigenous Services, Crown-Indigenous Relations, Northern Affairs, and Veterans Affairs, as well as Members of Parliament who took the time to sit with us, listen, and learn. Their presence and participation mattered. It signaled respect for our Nation, recognition of our work, and a shared commitment to moving forward in true partnership.
