The Codiac Regional RCMP is asking for the public’s help following a shooting incident in Moncton, N.B.
On December 3, 2023, members of the Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a call for a single shot fired at a residence on North Street, in Moncton. Video footage showed the suspect’s vehicle stopped at the corner of Sherrard Avenue and North Street for a few minutes before the driver exited the vehicle and discharged a firearm toward a residence and fled the scene. Two people were inside the home at the time of the incident, and no one was injured.
Through the investigation, police obtained surveillance video photos and are currently searching for a dark-coloured four-door vehicle with no rear license plate, which is believed to be involved in the incident. The RCMP is releasing the photos in hopes that the public can assist in identifying the vehicle or providing further information for the investigation, despite the quality of the images.
“We are looking to speak to any witnesses to the incident, as well as anyone who was on or near North Street between 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. on December 3, 2023,” said Cst. Karine Themens Roy with the Codiac Regional RCMP. “If you have dash-cam or other video footage from the area at the time of the shooting, please call the police.”
Anyone who has video footage, witnessed the shooting, or has information that could help further the investigation is asked to call the Codiac Regional RCMP at 506-857-2400. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by downloading the secure P3 Mobile App, or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.
The investigation is ongoing.
