Rotary’s Indigenous Awareness Committee offers learning opportunities to the public – GuelphToday

Orange Shirt Day in recognition of the harms done by the residential school system on Sept. 30

The Rotary Club of Guelph is pleased to offer three important invitations to the public from the club’s Indigenous Awareness Committee:

  • Sept. 25: Hear a powerful presentation by Nicole Mascherin. Nicole is a second-generation residential school survivor. In a powerful talk, Nicole will share the difficulties she experienced as a child growing up with a mother who was dealing with trauma experienced at St. Anne’s residential school, and explain Why I can’t “Just get over it”;. Nicole is also the current President of the BEL Rotary Club, outside of Peterborough Ontario. Join us live on Zoom on September 25 at 12:30 p.m.(bit.ly/2XWzQmJ)
