Saskatchewan Indigenous Storytelling Month, the Saskatchewan Archives Week and regularly scheduled events. February is a big month for the Moose Jaw Public Library (MJPL), and they have plenty of activities, guest speakers and more for library patrons to enjoy over the next four weeks.
Naiomi Setter, Public Service and Communications at the MJPL, spoke about the importance of Saskatchewan Indigenous Storytelling Month.
“Since 2004, the Library Services for Saskatchewan Aboriginal Peoples has been coordinating Saskatchewan Indigenous Storytelling Month, and they have events that are held all over the province throughout the month of February. Storytelling in its oral form is an important tradition in indigenous cultures.” Setter explained.
