Press Release

Oct 23, 2023

Six Nations of the Grand River (SNGR) and Six Nations Fire & Emergency Services (SNFES) are happy to announce the return of Micheal Seth to the community as the new Deputy Fire Chief.

Deputy Fire Chief Seth will strengthen the SNFES leadership ranks with over 30 years of Fire and Emergency Services experience when he begins his tenure on October 23, 2023. Deputy Chief Seth has been a crucial contributor to the advancement of the Fire Services in First Nations communities in Ontario and hopes to challenge the growth and capabilities of our community department in the years to come.

In addition to his time as SNFES Fire Chief between 2003 and 2015, Seth has earned his bars at the helm of the City of Thorold Fire & Emergency Services, Brant County Fire & Emergency Services, and most recently as the Director of Regional Fire & Emergency Services in Cape Breton.

Deputy Chief Seth has also earned several awards for his hard work and dedication, including the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal, awarded to exemplary long-service members of the Fire Service.

“I am excited to come back to the community to continue the progression of fire protection for our community and its visitors,” Deputy Chief Seth said. “I am also happy to bring back some of the positive and negative things that I was lucky enough to learn while working in various municipal fire services”.

SNFES looks forward to Deputy Chief Seth’s contributions to our strong leadership team. Please welcome Deputy Chief Michael Seth into our Fire Service family.

“Having Micheal return to our community is a big win for our community,” Chief Mark B. Hill said.
