Temporary Short-Term Rent Supplement for MNO Citizens

APPLICATIONS CLOSE – JANUARY 1, 2024.
MNO citizen households that make up to $54,000 per year, are eligible to receive a monthly $500 short-term rent supplement to be paid directly to their landlord ending March 2024.
Only one application per household will be approved.
Eligibility criteria:
- MNO citizens
- Annual income does not exceed $54,000.00
- Renting full-time in Ontario with a signed legal lease agreement
- Not currently receiving any other rental subsidy, supplement or allowance (excluding the standard OW/ODSP shelter allowance)
- Not residing in a rent-geared-to-income unit
Other ineligible housing units include:
- MNO Owned Affordable Housing Units
- Hostels/Hotels/Motels/Air BNB
- Group Home/Congregate Living Arrangements (room rental)
- Transitional Housing
- Nursing, Retirement, or Assisted Living Homes
- On-Campus Student Housing
- Units which include shared kitchen/bathroom with the landlord or landlord’s family
To apply, please complete the Short-Term Rent Supplement Application Form below and submit it along with all required documentation to RentSupplement@metisnation.org. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
