The Silhouette’s commitment to Truth and Reconciliation needs more – thesil.ca

Last September, my predecessor as Editor-in-Chief wrote about the continued importance of our Education and Reconciliation issue. Since 2021, the aim of this issue has been to provide a platform for Indigenous students, faculty and community members to share stories they feel are important through the Silhouette.

The introduction of this issue, along with other special issues, was part of a conscious effort by the Sil to better ensure we represent the whole McMaster community in all its diversity.

There has been one significant change to this special issue since 2021, however: originally published in November, since 2024 we have published Education and Reconciliation in September to more closely coincide with the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and the many events associated with it.
