Inez Jasper’s awards night calendar is filling up

Last week was a stellar one for local singer Inez Jasper as she received a Juno nomination and was named as finale performer for the 21st annual Indspire awards.

The mother of two said she was busy getting her kids off to daycare when she received a congratulations text from a friend before she even realized she had been nominated for the Juno.

“It’s an exciting day for aboriginal music,” she said in a press release. “There is so much great music coming out of the aboriginal community and it’s getting noticed for the quality and original content.”

Inez’s second solo album Burn Me Down is nominated for Aboriginal Recording of the Year the the 2014 Junos in Winnipeg in March.
