Jennifer Taback says NHL team gave her freedom to share her own culture in the design

The Toronto Maple Leafs will wear special jerseys for their Indigenous heritage game at home on Saturday, and they will feature some design modifications on the NHL team’s logo, courtesy of a northern Ontario Indigenous artist.

Jennifer Taback, originally from Shawanaga First Nation, is co-CEO of the Design de Plume creative agency in Sudbury.

Taback said the team gave her the creative freedom to draw from her own cultural heritage when she redesigned the iconic Leafs logo.
