Three Fires Powwow creates huge splash of colour – The Chronicle Online

The annual powwow at the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation is a dance and drum competition but the emphasis for the weekend is found in the full name of the event – the Three Fires Homecoming Powwow and Traditional Gathering.

“It brings us together,” said elected chief Claire Sault on Sunday.

“Family comes home for it and it’s good to see those we sometime miss as we live our busy lives. It’s especially good to see our seniors, elders and knowledge-keepers and I’m happy about the fantastic weather.”
