OTTAWA, ON – Ottawa, ON – Tungasuvvingat Inuit (TI) is pleased to announce our relocation to a new office building situated in the heart of Vanier. Our new address will be 282 Dupuis Street, conveniently located just off Montreal Road. This spacious facility is designed to be bright and welcoming, featuring abundant natural light and surrounding greenspace. It is strategically situated near essential services, ensuring ease of access for clients via foot or public transit.
Over the past few years, we have witnessed significant growth in our services, with an increasing number of urban Inuit turning to us for support. This new space not only satisfies the need for a culturally appropriate environment for the Inuit community but also aligns perfectly with our goal of “Our Spaces,” as outlined in our five-year Strategic Plan. As we strive to establish ourselves as a center of excellence, this relocation marks a crucial step toward that objective, while upholding a holistic approach to client care grounded in the 8 guiding principles of Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit.
The amalgamation of other TI locations will enable Mamisarvik Healing Centre to relocate to our current headquarters at 1071 Richmond Road. This step is part of TI’s broader strategy to ensure comprehensive and holistic care for its clients, emphasizing the interconnectedness of their needs. The integration of TI’s diverse locations further facilitates this approach, enhancing the overall support provided to clients.
TI President Tamara Takpannie emphasized: “This central location will significantly enhance our capacity to meet the evolving needs of the urban Inuit community. Ultimately, this new office building will enhance TI’s ability to deliver client-centered care, reduce barriers to care, and foster stronger partnerships for the collective betterment of our clients and community.”
Programs at TI’s new office are anticipated to begin in mid-November, marking an exciting chapter for us and the urban Inuit community we serve.
