Unlock benefits for your home daycare in Nunavut
Press Release
Do you want to start a daycare in your home?
By law, caring for more than four children under the age of 12 in your home requires a licence from the Department of Education. Take your care to the next level by becoming a licensed provider.
Becoming a licensed provider enables you to:
- Obtain a government subsidy so you can offer $10 a day child care to parents.
- Receive additional funding to support your daycare business, including start-up support, language and culture programming, operations and maintenance, and more.
- Access early learning resources that reflect Inuit culture and life in Nunavut, available in all official languages.
- Benefit from specialized training and ongoing support in all aspects of child care.
- Join a network of care providers and support services.
For more information, visit the Department of Education’s Early Learning and Child Care, Centre Licensing webpage.
